The Sphaero Alliance was launched to meet the increasing demands by corporate decision makers in the United States who are finding significant value in the Caribbean in regards to call center requirements, based on level of proficiency, preparedness in its peoples and the added bonus of geographic proximity. The alliance plans to provide a reliable platform for managing RFP proposals and securing contracts.

Contact center members include ICT Group, AllianceOne, Touchpoint Centers International, Technion Caribbean, DirecOne, St.Kitts SKG, Helen IT and Atlantic Tele-Center, a fully owned subsidiary of Atlantic Tele-Network, Inc (AMEX:ANK). Included in the charter members are telecommunications technology providers Nortel Networks (NYSE/TSX: NT) and Avaya (NYSE:AV). These two suppliers dominate solutions provided to the contact centers in the Caribbean Basin.

Commenting on the growing opportunity in the Caribbean, Juan Carlos Orozco, Avaya's Caribbean and Latin American, Director said that, "Participating in the Sphaero Alliance represents our ongoing commitment to accelerate the growth of call center outsourcing in the Caribbean."

Nortel Networks executes major enterprise projects across the Caribbean together with one of its key integration partners, Telectronic, a Chilean based company with a South Florida presence. The Sphaero Alliance grew out of the Caribbean Call Center Report 2002, sponsored by Nortel Networks and conducted by Zagada Markets.

John D. Campbell, Executive Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing of ICT GROUP stated that, "Our membership in the Sphaero Alliance reflects our commitment to brand the Caribbean as a compelling option for our clients as they seek more cost effective, high-quality, sales service solutions, helping them to remain competitive in today's challenging economic environment."

It is increasingly clear that the US$42 billion global outsourcing space has been growing at a rapid pace as U.S. businesses move to lower cost and increase earnings, without sacrificing customer satisfaction. In excess of 13,000 agents work in over 50 regional centers.
